2005 Mercedes E500 4-Matic Wagon
This Mercedes station wagon seats seven (7) and has a 5.
0 liter V8 engine.
What an awesome dad or mom-mobile! Plus, it has all wheel drive and recent Continental tires.
It has 204,361 miles today.
In the two years we have had this car, I tried to make sure everything was in good shape for long trips out of state.
Here are just some of the things done to make sure it is ready to go:
- Air spring suspension replaced with mechanical springs and dampers using Arnott kit
- New Continental tires and a new spare tire
- All fluids and filters – Engine oil, transmission fluid, transfer case oil, differential oil, coolant, brake fluid and power steering fluid
- Serpentine belt and tensioner
- Thermostat
- Spark plugs (this engine has 16!)
- Oxygen Sensors
- Battery
- Brake disks and pads were pretty new when we purchased it and are still in good shape
- A/C and heat work well, as do the heated seats
What is wrong with it?
- There are rust bubbles on the left rear fender, and the rear hatch has a dent and surface rust.
- It does consume oil, but the car measures the oil level and tells you when to add oil.
- Check engine light is on for catalytic converter inefficiency and evaporative system vacuum.
If this sounds like the kind of awesome non-SUV, non-minivan, rocket ship you would like to own for $5500, please contact me.
The car is located in West Lafayette, IN.
