*_ *QUALIFICATIONS*: High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years of work experience in a child-caring institution.
Two (2) years of college and 2 years of experience in a child-caring institution.
Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of work experience in a child-caring institution.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a social or behavioral science field is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in therapeutic setting(s) supporting individuals with a dual diagnosis of developmental disabilities and psychiatric disorder(s) required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain self-composure/self-control in times of high stress or when others are excited.
*SUPERVISION: *This job reports to the Program Director and does have direct reports.
*POSITION PHILOSOPHY: *The Program Coordinator has responsibility for the overall operations of their assigned program(s).
Leading a team of Program Supervisors and Assistant Program Supervisors assures day-to-day operations run smoothly, and assigned staff receive the direction, training and support necessary to ensure each student/client is afforded the ability to excel according to their individualized care program.
Collaborates with the Program Director and Case Coordinator in the design, development and implementation of milieu treatment.
Provides the organization, communication and coordination functions necessary to achieve Individual, Team and Company goals.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LISTED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:* • Accountable for all aspects of daily operations for assigned programs to be running smoothly, ensures a positive, healthy and safe environment is being provided and maintained within program guidelines, and that all agency policies, procedures, processes, daily activity schedules, documentation and reporting requirements are being implemented appropriately.
Reviews incident reports, staff schedules etc.
before issuing final approval.
• Problem solves and follows up on all concerns relating to students, family inquiries, staffing levels and day-to-day operations, prioritizing throughout the day.
Makes decisions and recommendations for resolution based on company and licensing policies.
Identifies when best solution may deviate from policy and recommends course of action to supervisor including contributing factors and anticipated outcomes.
Example concerns may include student or staff allegations of abuse or neglect; student injury; damage to the premises that affect compliance with licensing; medication administration error; significant staff related issues; suicide attempt; death; any condition requiring the removal of a resident from the facility; fire; closure of the facility; a visit from a State Licensing Specialist, homicidal gestures with the possession of a weapon and extended protective placement.
• Provides direct supervision of Program Supervisors.
Offers support, encouragement and guidance in their professional development.
Acts as a sounding board and challenges them as their skills develop.
Is respected as a role model by supervisory and direct care staff alike.
Conducts 1:1 meetings with Program Supervisors.
Attends team meetings and shares essential information to staff.
Facilitates team meeting as needed.
• Actively participates as a member of the treatment team.
Provides input to the treatment team regarding individual treatment plans, updates staff with any changes, and oversees implementation of changes.
• Supports staff during interventions, intervening, and directly assisting when necessary.
Maintains self-control during crisis intervention.
Uses appropriate, effective approaches with students.
Properly and safely implements agency approved physical intervention techniques.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $53,000.
00 - $57,000.
