The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN has an opening as an Engineer- Performance/Simulation/ Application .
This position will have primary responsibility for various aspects of large natural gas engine performance and operation.
The skills learned in this position are often highly valued in design engineering, customer service and application positions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Supporting new natural gas and/or dual fuel engine product documentation
Publication and maintenance of technical performance data
Analyzing special rating requests
Creating custom performance data
Supporting customer service and marketing
Supporting cost reduction and product quality projects
Production engine test cell support
Engine trouble shooting
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Engineering Technology AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 6 years of relevant experience.
A basic understanding of large gas and/or diesel engine operation and trouble shooting skills
Adept at working with computers and computer systems.
Software programs used frequently include, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Power Point and Access.
Strong data analysis skills
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Works well independently
Top Candidates will also have:
A strong personal initiative
Advanced understanding of large gas and/or diesel engine operation and trouble shooting skills
The proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
Understanding of Caterpillar engine product configuration
Advanced computer skills such as macro writing or Visual Basic for Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access database creation and data management, SQL, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or PowerBI
Additional Information:
Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN.
This position may require less than 10% travel.
