Landis+Gyr is seeking a Metrology Firmware Intern for Summer semester May-August 2024 to work on-site fulltime hours Monday through Friday at our Lafayette, Indiana location.
This is a paid internship but we don't provide housing assistance or relocation so will be considering local applicants.
Project Overview Will get an introduction to test systems, measurement, system accuracies, test methodologies, error sources (both HW and SW related).
Will work on a scrum team with a team of firmware engineers and SQA engineers.
Work items will involve feature development, investigating bugs and fixing bugs on our metering products.
Will work with tools such as Git, Gerrit, IAR compilers to per May participate on a team of other Co-ops and Interns to develop a new test system for energy meters.
Learn about the energy grid and how metering is a critical component to the future of stability and sustainability.
Will write a report highlighting a feature that they helped to develop, what new things they learned, and what skills were enhanced.
Student Objectives/Responsibilities: • Develop code in C/C++ for embedded systems • Design automated unit tests for development • Perform testing of the product using software tools as well as automation frameworks.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to design and develop custom test equipment.
