Senior Assistant Public Defender

*We are looking for an attorney who has criminal law and/or jury trial experience.
The attorney would be handling a felony caseload and be primarily assigned to a specific courtroom with a courtroom partner.
You would be representing indigent people charged with crimes ranging from Class 4 felonies to murders.
We currently have 4 felony assistants (you would be replacing one of the 4), 1 juvenile assistant, and 2 misdemeanor assistants.
We also have an investigator and 4 support staff members.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30 and it is rare for employees to work late.
There is no residency requirement and no on-call expectation.
There is a rotating Sunday bond court split evenly between the 7 attorneys.
This position qualifies for federal student loan repayment programs.
